Is sourdough bread healthy?

Revisiting the 150 year rule

Read time: 3 minutes

Good afternoon, 66.1ers.

Food for thought:

I was on a call earlier today.
Someone was finishing a sandwich on sourdough bread.
Made the comment, “Marcus isn’t going to like this one.”
Not sure why I wouldn’t like it.

Sourdough, made the right way, is a great idea.
Organic flour.
Homemade starter.
Lots of love.

My girlfriend makes multiple loaves every week.
I eat plenty of it.
Here’s a recent loaf:

Remember the 150-year rule
Sourdough gets the green light according to the 150-year rule.
Clean eating is more nuanced than reducing your carb intake.
It’s about which carbs you’re taking in.

Homemade organic sourdough and Gushers are not the same.
Not all carbs are created equal.

Do you follow the 150 year rule?
Maybe you’re wondering if a certain food meets specs.

I’ll respond and we’ll answer your question.

A question for you:

I’ve been on the road a lot lately.
Home to Minnesota for my dad’s retirement party.
Now in Colorado working on Freedom Fats

And I’ve noticed something:

That big, sticky problem that seems like it’s keeping you from getting to the next level in life?
It’s usually pretty solvable once you find the right 1-3 people to help.

If you’re navigating a job search, is there someone who can help you navigate the intricacies of strategic, value-driven networking?

If your romantic relationship feels rocky, who is the right person to help you steer clear of the rocks?

If your health is declining and has been for the last 3 years (a conversation I had with a patient today), who can help plant your flag and change it so you don’t burden your kids with your care because you let yourself go?

Sometimes it takes a while to find the right person to help you.
Once you do, though, it’s time to go all in and change your life.

Speaking of, I’ve recently been working with Rick Roberge and Elliott Boll
They say any coach worth their salt ought to have a coach of their own…

A story…

I had a conversation with someone earlier today about this post

I remember throwing out bottles of vegetable oil (olive oil mixes are sneaky!) and bags of tortilla chips, pretzels, and other seemingly benign snacks when I first got serious about avoiding seed oils.

Have you ever purged your pantry?
Maybe you’re thinking about it.
What questions do you have about clean eating?

That’s all for this Wednesday.
See you on Saturday.
Have fun out there.

Marcus
