Good afternoon, 66.1ers.
Make sure to read to the end and reply with your answer to the question.
Food for thought:
1 in 3 Americans uses a wearable health device (smart watch, Oura ring, etc.).
Yet we’re less healthy than ever.
Does that mean wearables aren’t doing their job?
Probably not.
Does it mean tracking your sleep score and your body battery and your step count isn’t enough to counter your sedentary lifestyle, daily caloric surplus, and poor sleep hygiene?
I’m thinking so.
If that looks like too many logos on a 1” screen…I agree
Wearables, as great as they are, give a false sense of security.
More data makes you feel like you’re in control.
When you feel like you’re in control, you feel like your problem is solved.
But has your health really, truly improved since you started wearing your Apple Watch?
What to do about it?
It’s not as simple as “don’t wear an Apple Watch”.
More to come in Saturday’s newsletter, if you’re a paid subscriber.
BTW–what’s your wearable experience?
Love ‘em?
Hate ‘em?
Somewhere in the middle?
Reply here–I’m learning, too.
A question for you:
Inspired by The Four Agreements.
What would a child do?
More curious, more honest.
Telling people what you think.
Less worried.
Forgets to ask permission.
Forgives themselves and others, because dwelling on grievances and holding grudges only keeps you from your own growth.
If you acted a little more like a child (in a good way), what would change?
What’s on your mind? 🧠
What’s your #1 question about longevity?
The thing that, if you had the answer, would allow you to unlock the next level of health?
Are you wondering if a certain ingredient is healthy?
Wondering why your Achilles is so tight after running in zero drop shoes?
Something else?
Send your questions in a reply to this email.
This month, we’re going to cook up the best Q&A issue 66.1 has seen.
That’s all for this Wednesday.
See you on Saturday.
Have fun out there.
